The New Construction Plumber is responsible for installing plumbing systems in new residential and commercial projects. This includes reading blueprints, installing water supply, drainage, waste, and vent (DWV) systems, setting fixtures, performing system testing, and ensuring all work complies with local plumbing codes and safety standards. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and experienced across all phases of new-construction plumbing.
Essential Responsibilities
- Install complete plumbing systems for new residential and commercial construction projects.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and plumbing schematics.
- Measure, cut, thread, assemble, and install copper, PEX, PVC, CPVC, cast iron, and other piping materials.
- Install underground plumbing, rough-in plumbing, top-out piping, and final trim-out components.
- Install water heaters, fixtures, faucets, toilets, tubs, showers, sinks, and specialty plumbing equipment.
- Install and test water supply, drainage, venting, gas, and sewer systems.
- Perform pressure tests, leak tests, and inspections to verify system integrity.
- Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, electricians, HVAC installers, and other trades to maintain project schedules.
- Ensure all installations meet local, state, and national plumbing codes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and plumbing equipment safely.
- Accurately complete daily work reports and communicate project progress.
- Identify and report material shortages, project issues, or potential delays.
- Follow OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies at all times.
Requirements
- 3+ years of new construction plumbing experience preferred.
- Residential and/or commercial construction plumbing experience.
- Ability to read blueprints and plumbing plans.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and installation standards.
- Experience installing DWV, water distribution, gas piping, and fixture systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a construction team.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Plumbing license preferred where required by state or local regulations.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods.
- Work on ladders, scaffolding, rooftops, and in confined spaces.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with residential production homes, custom homes, multifamily, or commercial construction.
- Experience with underground plumbing and slab rough-ins.
- Knowledge of gas piping installation.
- Experience using construction management or field reporting software.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.

Compensation: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
