About the Department
We’re looking for a Nursing Assistant Supervisor to help manage our Nursing Assistant team—a proactive, hard-working team working to ensure that our Veterans' daily patient care needs are met. In this role, you will direct and assist in providing care to patients such as feeding, ambulating, bathing, positioning, lifting, and dressing. Instructs and trains subordinates in patient care techniques, serves as a lead worker over Nursing Assistants 1 & 2 and Nursing Unit Aides. Position Duties
Three years of experience in patient care; OR
Possession of a current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate or graduation from an Emergency Medical Technician Program plus two years of experience in patient care; OR
Completion of an accredited registered or practical nursing program plus one year of experience in patient care.
NOTE: Positions at facilities receiving certain Medicaid or Medicare funds require that applicants possess a current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate.

Job Duties:
*Supervises and manages subordinate Nursing Assistants in providing care for residents.
*Prepares assignment sheets, making adjustments when necessary.
*Prepares performance evaluations on subordinate staff.
*Makes rounds of inspection, reviews records and monitors the environment on the assigned unit to ensure resident safety and that patients are receiving adequate nursing care in sanitary conditions.
*Measures temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, intake, and output and records in the patient's medical record. Observes patient's condition and reports any changes to unit nurse.
*Implements and follows through with special goals and projects to improve the quality of patient care. Works directly with professional personnel in developing programs on therapeutic techniques with patients, such as reactivation and rehabilitation.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional
Work Schedule: Work hours are 12-hour shifts, which include DAY OR NIGHT shifts. Weekends and/or holidays are required.
Compensation: This position has a SPECIAL ENTRANCE RATE of $16.24/hr and is eligible for premium pay of $3.00 per hour worked and a $2.00 per hour shift differential on nights/weekends/holidays.
