DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role supports the oversight of well plugging operations throughout the Eastern District, ensuring safe and compliant practices in the field. As an Oil and Gas Plugging Inspector, you will perform the following duties:
- Well Investigation: Inspect abandoned or orphaned wells, gather information, and document findings to determine proper plugging needs and estimated costs
- Contract Oversight: Guide plugging contractors in the field to ensure compliance with contract requirements and regulations
- Compliance Review: Evaluate permits, plugging procedures, and certificates to ensure they meet regulatory standards
- Field Inspection: Conduct onsite inspections of wells during plugging and other phases to assess safety and regulatory compliance
- Record Management: Maintain files, reports, and electronic records related to inspections, investigations, and plugging activities
- Technical Support: Provide assistance to operators, contractors, and staff regarding plugging methods and safety considerations

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Williamsport. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of technical experience in well design, drilling, completion, production, plugging, or underground storage operations in the oil or natural gas industry; or
- An associate's degree in Petroleum Technology or closely related field, and one year of technical experience in well design, drilling, completion, production, plugging, or underground storage operations in the oil or natural gas industry.
Special Requirements:
- You must be in possession of a valid driver’s license.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
This position is subject to the provisions of a collective bargaining agreement or memorandum of understanding.
You must be eligible for selection in accordance with merit system employment regulations.
