Job Summary: The Warehouse Lead Person oversees the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring the accurate receipt, storage, movement, and shipment of materials. This position provides leadership to warehouse team members while maintaining a safe, organized, and productive work environment that supports manufacturing operations.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct warehouse personnel to achieve daily production and shipping goals.
  • Coordinate the receiving, storage, and distribution of raw materials, hardware, and finished products.
  • Ensure production departments receive materials in a timely manner.
  • Verify inventory accuracy through cycle counts and inventory audits.
  • Train new employees on warehouse procedures, equipment operation, and safety requirements.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide coaching and guidance.
  • Promote and enforce all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Inspect incoming materials for damage and accuracy.
  • Assist with scheduling workflow to maximize efficiency.
  • Maintain an organized warehouse using 5S and housekeeping standards.
  • Work closely with Purchasing, Production, Shipping, and Quality departments to resolve material issues.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist the Warehouse Supervisor with special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • 2–5 years of warehouse experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Previous leadership or team lead experience preferred.
  • Forklift certification or ability to become certified.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with ERP or warehouse management systems.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
