Job Description:

What’s the role 

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a genuine interest in energy and technology, as well as a passion for delivering products for a growing company. 

 

Shell is looking for an Operations Analyst who will play an important role in achieving the company’s strategic and operational goals. These roles are responsible for monitoring and managing all operational activities, including but not limited to day-to-day transaction processing, generating and/or reviewing operational reports, resolving operational issues, performing account reconciliations, identifying and supporting operational efficiencies within the Operations team and across cross functional teams, and handling internal and external communications. 

 

The ideal candidate must be detail oriented with excellent analytical and communication skills. They must be well-organized, self-motivated, and process-oriented, with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The role requires a dedicated, responsible, and self-motivated individual who can perform well under pressure. 

 

Accountabilities: 

  • Monitor and manage day-to-day operations, including processing of transactions and resolving exceptions to ensure timely and accurate production of enrollments, drops, and invoices for across the SES footprint 

  • Review, analyze and take appropriate action on applicable reporting and any issues identified during day-to-day responsibilities 

  • Analyze and troubleshoot customer (internal and external) inquiries, issues, and concerns, including working with other departments to resolve and ensure the best customer service interaction possible 

  • Review and respond to operations related inquiries in a timely and professional manner 

  • Analyze errors/issues to identify the root causes and develop mechanisms to minimize or eliminate future issues   

  • Analyze and validate data to provide assurance of accuracy and validity of critical business information  

  • Communicate and resolve issues with utilities, as needed 

  • Utilize problem-solving and multi-tasking skills to manage daily work requirements, along with interruptions of additional requests  

  • Continuously think about methods to improve operational activities and suggest process and system improvements, as needed  

  • Maintain proper documentation of the operations processes and related controls 

  • Provide cross-functional support to peers and departments to develop satisfactory end-to-end delivery processes and results 

  • Collaborate and coordinate with cross functional teams on new initiatives or projects 

  • Responsible for backing up 

 

What you bring  

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer 

  • High School diploma required  

  • Minimum 3 year’  exposure to operational, administrative, or analyst‑type work in a professional environment (e.g., operations support, billing, transaction processing, customer operations, data/reporting support) 

  • Knowledge of ERCOT, PJM, MISO, NYISO, NEISO and CAISO markets 

  • Knowledge of PUC and/or Utility standards 

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Outlook, Powerpoint. Strong Excel skills 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; must be able to provide timely and accurate data analysis 

  • Strong business writing skills and experience developing communication in various formats 

  • Strong interpersonal skills 

  • Learner mindset and eye for continuous improvement needs 

  • Excellent organization and time management skills, with the ability to maintain a strict level of attention to detail 

  • Ability to work well within a team environment and demonstratea vested interest in team goals and objectives 

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships 

  • Self-motivated with the desire to consistently improve performance and gain further knowledge 

  • Ability to meet deadlines, learn quickly, and demonstrate effective problem-solving and follow-up skills 

  • Comply with company policies and procedures 

 

 

What we offer 

 

The base salary range for this position is $67,000 - $101,000 per year As pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.  

 

For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents. 

 

Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term Disability insurance.
