How you'll contribute
A OR Technician who excels in this role:
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments in the OR suite and ensures their proper set-up, assists surgical team during the surgical procedure(s).
- Understands the procedures being performed and can anticipate the needs of the surgeon by passing instruments and supplies during procedure.
- Transport to decontamination room upon completion of the surgical procedure.
- Handles instruments and supplies correctly and ensures their proper functioning.
- Responsible for all instruments, maintaining them in good working order, and assuring the availability of needed instruments to do all surgical cases.
- Maintains sterile field and counts all instruments, sponges, needles etc, needed for each case.
- Has necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during operative procedures.
- Cleans, assembles, and prepares instruments, equipment, and supplies for sterilization when needed.
- Follows proper sterilization processes.
- Participates in testing and recording of all Biotesting for the sterilizers and autoclaves in the department as needed.
- Responsible for confirming equipment while in the OR/Procedure room. Sterile field has been appropriately processed/sterilized.

What we're looking for
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent - Required
- Graduate of a surgical technology program - Preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 6 months prior experience in another facility.
- License/Certifications: Certification from clinicals completed required; BCLS Required.
