About the Department
The Office of State Parks (OSP) serves the citizens of Louisiana and visitors by preserving and interpreting natural areas of unique or exceptional scenic value, planning, developing and operating sites that provide outdoor recreation opportunities in natural surroundings, preserving and interpreting historical and scientific sites of statewide importance and administering intergovernmental programs related to outdoor recreation and trails.
The purpose of this position is to complete various physical, custodial, and/or maintenance tasks to include cleaning, removing litter and trash, cleaning various buildings, operating equipment, and assisting with the public.

Other Qualifications
Job Duties:
Performs custodial duties necessary to maintain clean and sanitary conditions of the park.
Clean site's grounds, gardens, and cabins - collect litter, debris, and trash.
Answer all phone calls and assist visitors with inquiries, complaints, and any issues.
Operate the POS system for various transactions, including reservations, boat rentals, and park fees.
- Provides a high level of customer service.
Maintain an inventory of items in the cabins and conference center and keep the office informed of any damaged items that are replaced and when items need to be restocked to maintain available backups.
Assists with the events thrown by the park. Help with planning, set up, take down and with the running of the events.
Pressure washes the exteriors of the entrance station, cabins, bathrooms, pavilions, conference center and nature center on a regular basis.
Assists with repainting/ touching up paint in various areas throughout the park.
Performs other duties as assigned and performs customer service to a high degree of excellence.

Location: Lake Fausse Point State Park, St. Martinville, LA
Appointment Type: This position will be filled as a part-time Classified WAE, limited to 1,245 working hours in a 12 month period.**Starting Hourly Pay varies, depending on experience.**
