1Position Summary/Job Duties:
We're looking for a part-time nanny this fall to help with our two kids — our 4-year-old son and our 2-year-old daughter — on the afternoons I teach at UW. The position is Wednesday and Friday afternoons, roughly 7–10 hours a week total. A grandparent may also be around some days, so at times you'd have just one of the kids or lend a hand with a few light tasks.
Schedule: Wednesday afternoons (~1:45–5:15) and Friday afternoons (~12:00–4:00). Some flexibility, and we're happy to talk through details. Could be anywhere between 7 and 10 hours per week.
Salary/Wage Range: Hourly $20.00
Qualifications: Preference is given to candidates with background/experience in childcare/nannying, especially with toddlers and preschoolers. CPR/First Aid certification preferred. Comfortable helping with light, mostly kid-related household tasks. References required.
Notes:
- No driving is required for this position — our son's school is right across the street, and everything is walkable. His dad usually handles pickup, though once in a while we may ask you to walk over and grab him.
- We live on the Isthmus, so we are accessible via bus lines and are a 20–30-minute walk from State Street (there is also plenty of parking on our street, and we have a garage if you prefer to park there).
- Must be comfortable with one sometimes-overly-friendly dog (a Golden Retriever named Remy).
- Be willing to commit to both Wednesday and Friday afternoons for the semester.
- References required — at least one family you've nannied or worked for.
- No smoking.
- The ideal start date is the end of August/beginning of September, running through the end of the fall semester (~mid-December). However, if you are looking to extend it into the spring semester, we are open to that as well!
