Job Overview:
As a Patient Care Technician (PCT), you’ll work closely with nurses to provide hands-on care and support to patients. Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with personal hygiene, including bathing, brushing teeth, toileting, and changing linens
- Helping patients with mobility, repositioning, and transfers
- Monitoring and recording vital signs
- Must be able to safely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- Documenting important information in patient charts
- Providing compassionate care, including support for patients nearing the end of life

Unit Description:
The Midtown Cardiac Neuro unit is a 19-bed unit specializing in the care of the Cardiac, Neuro, and ICU Stepdown patient. It is a blended scope unit with 8 beds designated for stepdown. This unit cares for complex medical surgical patients, cardiac patients, stroke patients, sepsis and other diagnoses including patients requiring close monitoring. Our patient population offers a great variety of learning opportunities related to cardiac rhythms and EKG’s, medication drips with titration, bedside cardioversions, and NIH stroke scale. We welcome new and experienced staff and enjoy teaching. We have an organized and structured orientation process with frequent check-ins from our leadership team. We promote a healthy work environment and have an active unit based shared governance. Teamwork is a priority on our busy unit as we strive to provide safe and high-quality care to our patients.
Required: Certifications/Licenses/Education:
- Basic Life Support: Health Care Provider, within six months of hire.
- Completion of a high school education or equivalent (GED) preferred
- Successfully complete PCT classes as required by care center/unit.
