As a Payroll Tax Analyst at GardaWorld Security Services, you will serve as a trusted subject matter expert, partnering with Payroll, Finance, and external agencies to ensure accurate payroll tax reporting and regulatory compliance. In this role, you will manage payroll tax reconciliations, year-end reporting, agency correspondence, and tax-related system processes across a complex multi-jurisdiction environment. You will play a key role in maintaining data integrity, resolving tax-related issues, monitoring legislative changes, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and compliance. Your Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
- Support period-end balancing and reconciliation activities, including daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual tax withholding and unemployment tax reconciliations.
- Review and resolve payroll tax errors and discrepancies.
- Provide payroll tax support for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other organizational changes.
- Serve as a liaison with federal, state, and local tax authorities and third-party tax providers.
- Investigate, analyze, and respond to tax agency notices, audits, inquiries, and assessments in a timely manner.
- Escalate and resolve complex tax-related issues to mitigate potential penalties and interest charges.
- Maintain accurate State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) rates and register new accounts as needed.
- Prepare and manage Powers of Attorney (POAs) for payroll tax-related matters.
- Monitor employee tax setup information and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Resolve employee tax data issues and perform data assurance activities to maintain compliance.
- Oversee the accuracy and validation of employee tax data for year-end processing.
- Coordinate the preparation, generation, distribution, and reconciliation of Forms W-2.
- Support tax reporting requirements and related audits.
- Research and resolve complex payroll tax inquiries while ensuring exceptional customer service.
Your Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 2-3 years Tax, Accounting or Finance experience.
- Tax Knowledge, including Federal, State, and Local authorities.
- Strong reconciliation, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines at quarter-end and year-end
- Organizational skills to plan, organize, and prioritize workload and meet multiple deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent Excel skills required.
