This position supports pharmacy operations in a long term care setting and helps ensure that residents receive timely, accurate medication services. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will perform the following duties:
- Prescription Processing: Receive, prepare, fill, and document prescriptions, including controlled substances, under supervision of a pharmacist
- Inventory Control: Maintain pharmacy inventory, prepare purchase requests, receive stock orders, and assist with required inventories
- Medication Records: Enter medication orders, update computerized medication profiles, and bill third parties for dispensed medications
- Quality Support: Provide input to improvement programs, support Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) efforts, and follow established procedures and safety guidelines
- Emergency Supplies: Maintain and replenish emergency drug boxes, identify outdated pharmaceuticals, and process returns for credit or replacement
- General Assistance: Perform clerical tasks such as typing, filing, copying, answering phones, and maintaining a clean work area

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 1st shift (8:30 AM to 4:30 PM), Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Minimum Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience assisting a licensed pharmacist in the preparation and dispensing of medications in a hospital pharmacy; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- You must possess active authorization to practice as a Pharmacy Technician in Pennsylvania.
- All employees possessing an active temporary registration as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee must obtain registration as a Pharmacy Technician within the two (2) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
