Physical Therapist (Casual) – UPMC Williamsport

UPMC Williamsport is seeking a Casual Physical Therapist to join our rehabilitation team. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed PT looking for schedule flexibility while making a meaningful impact on patient recovery and quality of life.

Schedule

• Casual position
• Primarily 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
• One weekend per month required
• Additional hours may be available based on departmental needs and employee interest

Position Summary

The Physical Therapist evaluates patients, develops individualized treatment plans, and provides evidence-based therapy services to help patients improve function, mobility, strength, and overall quality of life. This role collaborates closely with physicians, rehabilitation staff, patients, and families to achieve optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations, reassessments, and treatments for patients across the lifespan.
• Develop and modify individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, physician referrals, and progress toward goals.
• Collaborate with physicians, Physical Therapist Assistants, and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate care.
• Educate patients and family members on treatment plans, home exercise programs, and discharge recommendations.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards.
• Supervise and collaborate with Physical Therapist Assistants to ensure effective patient care.
• Complete required charges and statistical reporting accurately.
• Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and professional development activities.
• May serve as a clinical instructor for physical therapy students and other learners.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program
• Current Pennsylvania Physical Therapist license (or eligibility for licensure)

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
• Current Pennsylvania Physical Therapist (PT) license, or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to hire.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Ability to assess, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans for patients across the lifespan.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances

• Current Pennsylvania Physical Therapist (PT) license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification
• Act 33 Clearance
• Act 34 Clearance
• Act 73 FBI Clearance
