ROLE OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible to assist in quarry operations.

Typical schedule is Monday - Friday 4:30 AM - 4:30 PM, Saturday as needed during production and Monday - Thursday 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM during maintenance season. Schedule may vary due to weather and customer demand.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)

1. Perform pre and post operational inspections and document the conditions accurately and legibly.
2. Inspect, adjust, modify and repair equipment to ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, specifically, MSHA and Knife River standards.
3. Report and correct any unsafe or failing conditions immediately.
4. Ability to clearly and effectively communicate verbally and in writing with other employees and supervisors.
5. Inspect, adjust, modify, lubricate and repair plant equipment daily to minimize break downs.
6. Ability to identify and properly utilize various hand tools.
7. Ability to obtain accurate measurements using a tape measure.
8. Monitor plant equipment, conveyors, screen media, wear liners, etc. and notify plant operator or supervisor of any deficiencies or needed repairs.
9. Ability to climb ladders, inclined catwalks and stairs.
10. Perform repairs while working at heights and in small spaces.
11. Perform repairs in varying weather and light conditions.
12. Ability and willingness to work long hours during the production season.
13. Perform clean up duties around various equipment using shovels and high pressure water hoses.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)

1. Less than high school education, or
2. Up to one month related experience or training, or
3. Equivalent combination of education and experience.
4. Driver’s license required.
