Policy Accounting Analyst I
Department: Policy Accounting Location: Kansas City, MOJob Description:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide an entry level for candidates who have not demonstrated the education/job experience for a Level 2. This role is responsible for processing incoming payments and handling of phone inquiries from external and internal customers and other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and administer on demand premium drafting via telephony software for policyholders following department guidelines while adhering to compliance regulations
- Apply incoming premiums for life and annuity products in accordance with departmental policies and procedures
- Refund overpaid premiums and perform basic accounting transactions between company accounts. Review suspense entries, restricted/suspended policies, and resolve basic customer inquiries
- Various other duties based on department needs and individual capacity
Experience and Qualifications:
- Basic comprehension of Accounting Principals
- Comprehension of Americo processes and systems (NBUW, Vantage, AWD, Americo.com, Microsoft Outlook, SSRS, Navision, PAS, Dashboard, My Americo, Sales Connection, Suitability Interview Program, Calabrio, Finesse, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word)
- Basic Customer Service and Financial Services knowledge
- Excellent written and verbal communications with the ability to interact with others via phone
- Detail oriented � Deliver consistently high quality output
- Multi-tasking abilities without undue stress
- Ability to be a team player (foster mutual respect in your dealings with others)
- Ability to thrive in a learning environment (cross train, added responsibilities)
Education:
Four-year college education or equivalent work experience
