Responsibilities

Details of Research Project: 

 

In this research project, the postdoctoral fellow will investigate the use of selective modified mRNA to treat different disease, such as diabetic foot, skin ageing and cardiac regeneration. Using murine and pig models, they will performed detailed activity and identify therapeutic genes that could promote regeneration and rejuvenations. Our studies are designed to advance toward human clinical trials and evaluate therapeutic value.

 

 

Technical Duties: 

 

The candidate will be responsible for conducting in vitro screening experiments; preparing modified mRNA; formulating and characterizing lipid nanoparticles (LNPs); analyzing high-throughput datasets; designing, planning, and analyzing in vivo studies in small and large animal models; summarizing research findings; and preparing manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals.

Qualifications

Educational and other Requirements for the position: PhD, MD, or MD/PhD

 

Experience Required: The qualified applicant should be skilled in regenerative medicine techniques and have at least one of the following additional areas of expertise: Cardiac repair, RNA biology, synthetic biology, heart failure, cardiology, immunology or molecular biology.

 

Goals/Outcomes of the Research Project: 

Our goal is to identify new mRNA-based candidate genes that can prevent and treat diabetic foot, skin ageing and cardiac regeneration.

 

Compensation Statement

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $74,692.00 - $80,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
