Postdoctoral Researcher

The Postdoctoral Researcher will contribute to research and development projects that integrate numerical modeling, AI/ML, visualization, interactivity, and simulation. Projects will span compound flood forecasting, informing coastal digital twins, immersive scientific visualization, and creative technology applications in spatial computing. Candidates should bring both technical and creative expertise and be comfortable working across disciplines with faculty, students, and external partners. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful research at the intersection of AI, coast, and digital twins.

Job Responsibilities:

• Research & Development: Develop and apply numerical and AI/ML technology to bridge high-resolution geospatial data, flood models, and street-level digital twin environments. Transform flood model outputs into interactive, immersive applications for urban and natural coastal environments. (65%)
• Collaboration: Work with faculty, students, and external partners on interdisciplinary initiatives; contribute to joint problem-solving and co-mentorship of graduate students. (20%)
• Dissemination: Prepare manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications, technical reports, and presentations at national/international conferences. (10%)
• Other duties as assigned. (5%)
