BrightStar Care is seeking a Primary Registered Nurse to care for our patients and facilitate their speedy recovery. You will be responsible for educating them and their families on prevention and healthy habits. The ideal candidate will be a responsible and well-trained professional able to give the best nursing care with little supervision.

Responsibilities
- i. Must perform health care responsibilities and monitor the Individual’s health conditions;
- ii. Conducts the comprehensive nursing assessments to evaluate health and functional needs for the Individual at least annually;
- iii. Responsible for overall coordination, compliance, quality of nursing care provided to the individual, and compliance with treatment plans (BSP);
- iv. Discusses the assessment as part of the (IDT) Inter disciplinary Team meeting;
- v. Assists in the development of the (IHP) Individual Habilitation Plan;
- vi. Administers medication or delegates medication administration as appropriate;
- vii. Monitors the Individual’s health status, use of medications, and treatment progress;
- viii. Monitor’s health risks, data, and information, including ensuring that an unlicensed Staff Member is performing only those nursing tasks identified from a nursing assessment;
- ix. Assists the Individual to secure routine and emergency medical Services;
- x. Makes referrals for appropriate medical Services;
- xi. Performs health care procedures ordered or prescribed by a physician or medical practitioner and required by standards of professional practice or law to be performed by an RN or LVN; and
- xii. Must be available for up to 40 hours per week during normal business hours.
Skills:
- Proven experience as a registered nurse
- Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
- Excellent knowledge of emergency care
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination etc.) and willingness to follow them at all times
- A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Responsible and compassionate
- Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Patient with excellent problem-solving skills
Requirements:
- Current unrestricted license as a registered nurse in the state of Texas
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Wound care experience is preferred
- Proficiency in IV Skills and Central Line (PICC/PORT) care is required
- Certified CPR and negative TB skin test or chest x-ray
- Minimum one (1) year of documented experience required in a home health agency, primary care clinic or health facility, preferred. Three to five years is preferred
- Possess exceptional nursing assessment skills
- Analytic/Critical thinker.
- Licensed driver with valid automobile insurance
- Ability to work on weekends, nights and holidays
- Reliable transportation
- Must be able to stand walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull. Varied assistance is required depending on the mobility of the client. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
