PRN Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Merit Health Natchez is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our collaborative inpatient medicine team in a flexible PRN capacity.

Position Highlights

• Status: PRN (As-Needed)

• Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts (100% Daytime Coverage)

• Compensation: Competitive Hourly Rate

Core Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality inpatient care and clinical management for hospitalized patients.

• Perform comprehensive clinical evaluations, daily rounding, admissions, and discharge planning.

• Collaborate closely with attending hospitalist physicians, nursing staff, and medical specialists.

• Maintain timely and accurate electronic medical record (EMR) documentation.

Qualifications

• Licensure: Active Mississippi NP or PA license (or immediate eligibility to obtain).

• Certification: Board Certification as an APP (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA).

• Experience: Inpatient or acute care experience preferred.

• Skills: Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication, and the ability to thrive in a team-oriented hospital setting.
