Position Overview
This role is pivotal in our goal to provide world class products to our customers. You'll be part of a dedicated team of three that is responsible for executing strategic sourcing and cost reduction initiatives.
This role presents a dynamic and challenging opportunity to make a significant impact on International Motors, LLC's success.
Responsibilities
- Ensure suppliers meet our strategic objectives for cost, quality, sustainability, and technology, including making changes to the supply base when objectives are not being met, or improvements can be made. Make source recommendations and be able to support your recommendation with data.
- Foster strong relationships with suppliers and cross-functional team members that foster collaboration and efficiency.
- Negotiate agreements of various complexities (from one time purchases to multi-year supply contracts) that align with our strategic objectives.
- Conduct thorough analyses of total cost of ownership and underlying cost drivers to support new business awards and cost reduction initiatives, ensuring the best total landed cost. Understanding and applying economic order quantities and inventory level optimization are critical in this area, since a significant portion of the Category spend is under a Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) model.
- Maintain communication with Supply Chain, Operations, and Engineering teams, effectively escalating issues when necessary and ensuring all stakeholders are informed.
- Interface with procurement teams from other brands within the TRATON family (MAN, Scania, VW Truck and Bus) to develop sourcing synergies where applicable.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of purchasing/procurement experience
- At least 1 years of lead experience
OR
- Master's degree and at least 3 years of purchasing/procurement experience
- At least 1 years of lead experience
OR
- At least 8 years of purchasing/procurement experience
- At least 1 years of lead experience
Additional Requirements
- Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills
- Advanced degree preferred, with an MBA being a strong advantage.
- Basic negotiation skills with a willingness to learn and develop further skill.
- Exceptional organizational skills, capable of prioritizing multiple projects, knowing when to reprioritize, and meeting specific deadlines.
- Proficient in developing presentations that convey complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Ability to understand basic information about parts within your scope from engineering drawings.
- Experience and comfort in working with legal council to develop complex commercial agreements.
