Position Summary:
The Product Analyst will serve as a critical bridge between our product and customer success teams, ensuring the accuracy and quality of data captured by Stoc's AI-powered monitoring systems. This role combines data quality assurance, product database management, customer data analysis, and product support responsibilities. This role will report directly to Stoc’s Product Director.
You'll work closely with Product Management to maintain data integrity across all customer deployments, manage our Image Recognition Quality team (VST), and support the development team with actionable insights from data analysis. Additionally, you'll collaborate with the Customer Success team to ensure accurate customer reporting and identify opportunities for customer improvement.
This role is ideal for an analytically-minded professional with an engineering or data science background who is eager to learn about AI/ML systems, retail technology, and product management. The position offers significant growth potential with a clear pathway toward product management roles.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Quality & Image Recognition Management (40%):
• Monitor and ensure accuracy of image recognition outputs from Stoc's computer vision systems
• Manage and coordinate with the Image Recognition Quality team (VST) to ensure accurate image approval processes
• Implement and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to continuously improve recognition accuracy
• Gather, track, and analyze metrics on image recognition performance across products, cooler types, and locations
• Identify specific areas for improvement in the AI model and flag recurring issues to the development team
• Conduct regular audits of image classification results and identify patterns in errors or misclassifications
• Produce weekly and monthly reports on data quality issues, image recognition performance, and product database gaps
• Document all data quality issues with root cause analysis and recommended solutions
Product Database Management (15%):
• Monitor product database completeness and accuracy
• Identify and document new products detected in customer coolers that are not yet in the Stoc database
• Coordinate with Customer Success team to prioritize which new products need to be scanned and added to the database
• Maintain product information accuracy including UPCs, product names, categories, and images
• Investigate and resolve product database discrepancies flagged by customers or internal teams
• Track resolution time and effectiveness of implemented database improvements
Customer Success Analytics Support (20%):
• Gather and validate data required for monthly customer reports
• Create clear, compelling charts and visualizations that support the customer analysis narrative
• Ensure all data presented to customers is accurate and properly contextualized
• Analyze customer data to identify actionable insights and trends
• Provide recommendations to Customer Success team on insights that could benefit specific customers
• Suggest improvement opportunities based on data patterns (e.g., planogram optimization, stockout reduction)
Customer Data Integration & Planogram Management (15%):
• Ensure customer-provided data (sales data, planograms, store information) is clean, complete, and accurate before integration
• Ingest new customer planograms and validate against existing product database
• Identify missing products or UPC discrepancies in planograms before deployment
• Ensure planograms and updates are uploaded to the Stoc system efficiently
• Monitor data sync processes to ensure effective integration into the Stoc system
• Troubleshoot data sync failures and coordinate with technical team for resolution
Product Team Support (10%):
• Assist Product Manager with day-to-day operational tasks and priority management
• Track bugs reported by customers and internal teams using project management tools
• Document feature requirements based on customer feedback and data analysis
• Participate in product requirement reviews and provide data-driven insights
• Work closely with the development team to communicate specific technical issues identified in data analysis
Qualifications:
Required Experience & Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Analytics, or related technical field
• Master’s in business related subject (preferred)
• Strong academic record demonstrating analytical capabilities
• Internship or coursework experience in data analysis preferred
• Experience with data analysis tools and visualization (Excel/Google Sheets required; SQL, Python, or R preferred)
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in data analysis and spreadsheet tools (Excel/Google Sheets at minimum)
• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, or similar preferred)
• Understanding of data quality principles and validation techniques
• Comfortable working with large datasets and identifying patterns/anomalies
• Familiarity with API integrations and data sync processes (preferred but not required)

Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous internship or work experience in data analysis, quality assurance, or product operations
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM based subject.
• Master’s degree in Engineering Management
• Exposure to machine learning or computer vision concepts
• Experience with retail, CPG, or supply chain industries (preferred but not required)
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies
• Experience with project management tools (Notion, Linear etc.)
• Knowledge of SQL for database queries (preferred but not required)
