Description

Tyler Technologies is seeking a Product Analyst to join our Public Safety product team. This role will focus on improving the user experience for emergency response professionals, including dispatchers, officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel.
You will help lead a modernization initiative that updates our product’s visual design, usability, and operational workflows to align with Tyler’s corporate design system. The goal is to make critical software faster, clearer, and easier to use for the professionals who rely on it during emergency situations.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their product career who is passionate about design, usability, and mission-driven technology. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and public safety professionals to ensure our solutions support real-world emergency response workflows.

Responsibilities

User Experience & Workflow Improvement
  • Study and document real-world workflows used by emergency dispatchers and first responders.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, streamline, and modernize product workflows.
  • Partner with UX designers to apply Tyler’s corporate design system across existing product interfaces.
Product Execution
  • Translate UX concepts and customer needs into clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Support backlog grooming, sprint planning, and other Agile development activities.
  • Work with engineering to ensure design standards and workflows are implemented effectively.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Gather feedback from public safety agencies, dispatch centers, and emergency response teams.
  • Participate in customer calls, demos, and usability sessions to understand operational challenges.
  • Represent user needs when prioritizing enhancements and improvements.
Product Modernization
  • Support initiatives to refresh legacy product screens and workflows.
  • Ensure new features align with Tyler’s design standards and accessibility guidelines.
  • Help maintain consistency across modules and products as the platform evolves.
Operational Support
  • Track feature progress and communicate updates to stakeholders.
  • Assist with sprint QA, usability validation, and release preparation.
  • Document workflows, design decisions, and product updates for internal teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Product Management, Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
  • 0–2 years of experience in product management, UX, business analysis, or software development (internships included)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write clear requirements and documentation
  • Interest in user experience design, usability, and workflow optimization
  • Ability to collaborate with engineering, design, and customer-facing teams
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
