Product Engineer Intern/Co-op

We are looking for a Product Engineer Intern to join our C-W Farris team!

You will perform various tasks under the direction of the engineering team, supporting our Pressure Relief Valve product lines. An Intern/Co‐op you will handle a variety of analytical, mechanical, technical, administrative, and/ or research based assignments. This can include moderately complex chemical, electronic, mechanical or physical testing and/or analysis of materials or finished products. Examples of the nature of testing include (but are not limited to) destructive physical analysis, corrosion assessments, and equipment calibration. You will be expected to document results in reports, records, and/or presentations.

Please note that working conditions may vary due to the physical environment of each workplace, the type of work performed, and local regulatory requirements. Examples of working conditions may include but are not limited to: personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, handling of potentially hazardous material, specialized security clearance, and lifting requirements. Specific working condition requirements, if applicable, are maintained at the local level.

YOUR CHALLENGE:

  • Use 3D CAD (Creo) to generate engineering drawings
  • Perform a variety of tests utilizing specialized equipment.
  • Research market needs, competitive products, and available technologies.
  • Help improve or maintain engineering systems, procedures, and/or specifications.
  • Collect data, complete analysis, and draft reports to assure knowledge management.
  • Participate as a team member assigned to projects to solve technical problems or make technical improvements.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (in progress); attending an accredited university in pursuit of an engineering degree
  • Ability and eagerness to learn quickly.
  • Ability to follow instruction and complete tasks independently.
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Basic engineering computer and data entry skills; MS-Word, MS-Excel
  • Previous experience/internships in a similar role is considered a strong asset
