Role summary
This position is ideal for students with an interest in medical device cybersecurity to join the Product Security Team as an Intern Product Security Engineer, supporting cybersecurity compliance of Align Technology’s medical devices. Partnering with Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, and Research & Development teams, you’ll provide assistance with cybersecurity risk management activities, regulatory assessments, and regulatory submission documentation. This role is vital in supporting secure development of innovative medical technologies and meeting global regulatory requirements for medical device manufacturers.
Role expectations
Role expectations
- Assist with medical device cybersecurity risk assessments including threat modeling, security design controls, and publication of cybersecurity risk management reports.
- Assist with documentation for regulatory submissions including US FDA, EU MDR, China NMPA and other international regulatory bodies.
- Support regulatory assessments of Align Technology’s processes against global cybersecurity regulations, standards, and guidance documents.
- Support improvements and efficiency in Product Security team processes and systems.
What we're looking for
- Education: Rising junior or senior in a relevant Bachelor’s degree program (Cybersecurity/Security, Software Engineer, Computer Engineer, Biomedical Engineer, Risk Management, or others)
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; learning agility; attention to detail; proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, and Visio.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Complementary skills
- Preferred prior knowledge of or experience with medical devices, particularly medical devices containing software or programmable logic.
