GENERAL SUMMARY: Responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of workers to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the manufacturing or production process. This position plays a key role in achieving production targets, maintaining product quality, and fostering a culture of safety and teamwork.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, AND/OR SKILLS:
- Directly supervise production staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Monitor and oversee all production activities, ensuring that production goals are met.
- Ensure that products meet quality standards and specifications through regular quality checks and inspections.
- Promote and enforce safety protocols, including the use of protective equipment, to maintain a safe work environment.
- Manage inventory levels and ensure materials are available to meet production demands.
- Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains and implement appropriate changes.
- Prepare production reports, including production efficiency, quality, and any issues or deviations.
- Address production issues and challenges as they arise, implementing solutions to minimize disruptions.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as maintenance, engineering, and quality control to ensure smooth production processes.
- Monitor and control production costs to optimize resource utilization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 Years experience in a supervisory role managing people in a production environment.
- Steel fabrication experience preferred.
- Knowledge of ERP systems.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
To do the job, the following physical requirements are necessary:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to occasionally pull, push, carry, or lift tools, equipment, or materials 50 lbs. or less.
- Ability to withstand occasional bending, squatting, or crouching.
- Ability to frequently handle (hold, seize, grasp, turn, etc.) tools, equipment, or material.
- Ability to work in inclement weather conditions, including cold, heat, and humidity.
