Description

The Program Coordinator duties are organizing, coordinating, and planning operational facets of a program and its related activities which include, but are not limited to the following: establishing long-term operational objectives, researching factors that may impact the success of the program, and working with individuals or groups to research and document program requirements in order to provide appropriate input into the development of strategic plans.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops work plans to accomplish program goals and objectives and monitors progress toward their achievement.
  • Conducts research and gathers information to develop various publications.
  • Develops promotional materials which may include content for reports, briefings, newsletters, grants or other written information related to the program.
  • Assists in developing and coordinating program-related conferences, conventions, or meetings.
  • Monitors expenditures and may participate in the budget planning process and prepare financial reports.
  • May assist in identifying funding resources and developing fund-raising strategies and initiatives.
  • Prepares operational and statistical reports.
  • Conducts training, represents the program at meetings and conferences, and networks with affiliated groups. May supervise assigned project staff, interns and/or volunteers.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to the program.
  • Two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

ADDITIONAL JOB DEATILS:

  • Administrative Support: Screens and handles routine items; drafts and edits correspondence on behalf of the department, creates reports, and archives documents.
  • Oversees department social media presence, including curating research and teaching accomplishments by faculty and students, student awards and placement information, and posting to multiple sites, following up with responses to queries, and updates
  • Calendar and Correspondence Management: Maintain the department calendar including faculty meetings, graduate and undergraduate committee engagements, student clubs, industry partner visits, and interdisciplinary department taskforces.
  • Prioritize meeting requests, and ensure daily preparation by reviewing incoming correspondence and identifying key items.
  • Supervises Federal Work Study students, including assigning tasks and ensuring completion and quality.
  • Manages project tracking and communicates needs to stakeholders. Coordinates faculty tenure and promotion casefiles liaising between candidates, department leadership, and College office.
  • Supports academic program coordinators with syllabus collection, class scheduling, co-curricular events, book adoptions, desk copies acquisitions, and other routine tasks.
  • Supports lead staff with faculty recruitment, collecting documents and applications, scheduling and arranging faculty interviews, collecting feedback, preparing summaries and maintaining records.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent Verbal and communication skills
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location.  Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
