Join the dynamic team behind the Anthony Bahr '91 Engineering MBA Program as the Bahr Engineering MBA Recruiter and help shape the next generation of engineering leaders through strategic, mission aligned recruiting. In this role, you’ll guide prospective students through their MBA journey, from first inquiry to admission decision, while ensuring every interaction reflects the values of Mays Business School. You’ll coordinate communications, manage social media storytelling, and execute both virtual and in-person events that bring the program to life. Your work will include building relationships across the College of Engineering, maintaining prospective databases, and driving outreach campaigns that strengthen our applicant pipeline. You will also support admissions processing by evaluating candidates, contributing to committee discussions, and compiling key program data. This position plays a vital role in event planning, office operations, and applicant support, ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience for all who engage with the program. Essential Duties/Tasks 

Recruiting 

  • Primarily responsible for recruiting Bahr Engineering MBA prospective students. Coordinates recruiting and admissions efforts and ensures programming and messaging are consistent with the mission of Mays Business School and the Bahr Engineering MBA program. 

  • Directs prospective students to the correct contact for their needs and questions. 

  • Coordinates program communications including but not limited to prospect messaging, admissions chats, and university wide communication. 

  • Coordinates and executes virtual and in-person recruiting events on or off campus. 

  • Maintains databases of prospective students and conducts outreach and various campaigns to drive top-of-funnel traffic. 

  • Maintains relationships with stakeholders from the College of Engineering. Travels domestically to events as needed. 

  • Manage social media platforms and create communication plans to promote the Bahr Engineering MBA program. 

  • Executes marketing and social media content to promote the Bahr Engineering MBA program, working under the guidance and direction of the Mays Marketing and Communications team to ensure alignment with overall branding and messaging standards. 

 

Admissions Processing 

  • Reviews and evaluates Bahr Engineering MBA candidates and makes recommendations as to which students should move forward in the admissions process. 

  • Compiles program statistics. 

  • Participates in Admission Committee meetings. 

 

Event Planning and Execution 

  • Plans and executes recruiting events such as information sessions, admitted student events, and networking events. 

  • Meets with prospective students individually to promote the Bahr Engineering MBA and aid them in completing their applications. 

  • Responds to inquiries regarding program offerings and student financial aid options. 

 

Office Support 

  • Provide administrative support for specialized activities and projects. 

  • Manage scheduling and confirmation of applicant interviews. 

  • Manage interview calendars for multiple administrators and office needs. 

  • As needed, assist with general office management activities, including supply and equipment upkeep. 

  • May supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate the work of student workers. 

  • May assist with handling incoming office calls and front desk coverage. 

  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

  • May assist with other MBA Program recruiting duties as needed. 

 

What You Need to Know  

Salary: $49,500 - $55,000/annually (Compensation will be commensurate to the selected hire’s experience.)

Other Requirements and Factors: Travel may be occasionally required to run errands locally and attend information sessions, recruiting fairs, and other program-related events on or off campus. It also includes occasional work before 8 a.m., after 5 p.m., or on weekends. 

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s Degree. 

  • Two years of experience in administration, admissions, recruiting, or closely related experience as a higher education or similar professional. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in social sciences, business, humanities, student affairs, education, or related field. 

  • Experience in recruiting, admissions, sales and/or marketing, and event planning. 

  • Demonstrated understanding of how to plan and execute effective marketing and social media posts that drive engagement and align with program goals. 

  • Advance proficiency in Excel. 

  • Experience with Salesforce, WebAdmit, or similar CRMs. 

  • Experience with Compass, Canvas, Howdy, or other higher education student support systems or LMS systems. 

  • Experience managing multiple projects with varying deadlines while simultaneously needing to adjust priorities. 

  • Experience working with graduate or undergraduate students of varied backgrounds. 

  • State of Texas class “C” vehicle operator license. 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. 

  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc. 

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience creating communication plans to promote a new product/program. 

  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team. 

  • Exceptional skills of emotional intelligence, conflict management, communication, organization, initiative, customer service, and detail oriented.
