About this role

The Program Planner Analyst- Community Engagement Coordinator role ensures that young people have a voice in shaping the very programs designed to serve them. Through program coordination, communication, and ongoing collaboration, the position reinforces the clinic's leadership in prioritizing adolescent and young adult health needs across the Tampa Bay area. 

 

This position is grant funded.

This position requires a level II background check.

 

Responsibilities

Program Coordination and Supervision:

  • Track program deliverables, timelines, and reporting to ensure accurate documentation of goals and outcomes
  • Supervise Youth Advisory Board Junior Coordinators and College of Public Health undergraduate Community Outreach Interns
  • Supervise education and outreach team activities
  • Coordinate youth workgroups

Youth Advisory Board Leadership

  • Recruit, train, and support Youth Advisory Board members in peer education on sexual health, HIV, substance use, and overall health and well-being for youth and young adults
  • Support member retention through leadership and engagement opportunities
  • Conduct youth focus groups to inform youth-centered programming
  • Coordinate YAB meetings, including agendas, logistics, space, guest facilitators, and materials
  • Manage YAB social media platforms
  • Develop digital and print promotional materials as needed

Community Outreach and Engagement

  • Build and maintain community partnerships to expand access to research and youth focused health services
  • Represent the clinic at community events, meetings, and coalitions
  • Coordinate community-based learning workshops for youth, community members, and professional partners
  • Assist with recruitment for open research studies and interventions
  • Organize and support community-based health promotion events
  • Assist with community-based HIV testing and distribution of health resources, as needed

 

  • Maintain accurate logs of community outreach and engagement activities

Qualifications

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a field directly related to the program responsibilities and two years of professional experience; or Master’s degree in an area of specialization appropriate for the program.

SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements


A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:


(a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
(b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree;
(c) Six years of direct experience for a master’s degree;
(d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
(e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree

Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
    
Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
