We’re seeking a motivated Project Accounting/Compliance Intern to join our dynamic team. This role provides an excellent opportunity for hands-on experience in the field of accounting, working alongside experienced professionals in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, attention to detail, and a desire to learn.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the processing of vendor invoices for payment, analyzing month to post and due date
  • Disbursement review of the automated accounts payable system for overhead and miscellaneous job invoices
  • Research discrepancies of financial information and/or documentation (e.g., purchase orders, vendors, invoices, lien waivers, etc.) for ensuring accuracy and adherence to procedures prior to processing
  • Create cost backup for the ability to have clean audit trails/reporting
  • Setup vendors in accordance with 1099 procedures
  • Other duties as required 
Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word and other Office applications
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task

 

Working Conditions:

  • The Project Accounting/Compliance Intern’s work is primarily performed indoors at Brinkmann’s corporate office
  • This role requires regular office hours, with potential for extended hours during reporting cycles
  • Light physical effort is required, including the handling of objects up to 10 pounds and some
  • Standing, walking, sitting, talking and/or hearing
