Job Description:

*ONLY OPEN TO CURRENT FULL-TIME ANNUALLY PAID PARKS EMPLOYEES*

Major Responsibilities

- Under general direction, with latitude for independent initiative and judgment, perform responsible work in the supervision, planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring and/or evaluation of community development programs in Staten Island.
- Represent the Borough Commissioner and administration at community meetings and events.
- Track ongoing Capital projects within the Borough and perform related community outreach.
- Prepare briefings and remarks for events. Assist with special events as necessary.
- Process and respond to correspondence from both the public and Parks staff.
- Collect data, maintain spreadsheets, and develop charts and reports.
- Manage special projects and assignments as directed.
- Receive, track, and analyze 311 requests made throughout the borough.
- Serve as a liaison between the Agency and local elected officials’ offices.
- Create PowerPoints illustrating project progress and data analysis.

COMMUNITY COORDINATOR - 56058

Qualifications:

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
