At Puget Sound Veterinary Specialty & Emergency (PSVSE), we believe extraordinary patient care begins with an extraordinary team. Our Internal Medicine service is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our Internal Medicine Specialist and team in providing compassionate, collaborative, and advanced medical care to pets throughout the Pacific Northwest.
This is more than a traditional veterinary assistant position. Internal Medicine patients often require long-term care, advanced diagnostics, and ongoing client education. We're looking for someone who enjoys building lasting relationships with clients while providing exceptional hands-on patient care.

What You'll Do
As a Veterinary Assistant on our Internal Medicine team, you'll play an essential role in supporting our specialist and patients by:

Assisting our Internal Medicine Specialist and team with examinations, diagnostics, and treatments

Safely restraining patients for examinations, imaging, procedures, and treatments

Preparing patients for advanced diagnostics and specialty procedures

Obtaining patient histories and maintaining accurate medical records

Providing compassionate and professional client communication, including patient updates, appointment coordination, and discharge instructions

Maintaining treatment areas, stocking supplies, and ensuring efficient daily workflow

Collaborating closely with our Emergency and Specialty teams to provide seamless patient care

Delivering exceptional service to every patient and family that walks through our doors
What We're Looking For
We're searching for someone who brings both technical skill and genuine compassion.
Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of veterinary assistant experience

Strong patient restraint and animal handling skills
-
Comfortable communicating with clients in both routine and emotionally sensitive situations

Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities

Positive attitude with a desire to continually learn and grow

Ability to work independently while contributing to a highly collaborative team

Current Washington Medical Veterinary Clerk License preferred

Candidates who do not currently hold a Veterinary Medical Clerk License must be willing to obtain one. PSVSE is happy to assist with the licensing process.

Compensation
$22.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
