- Checkout Operations: Scan products using optical scanners, tabulate bills, and bag groceries efficiently.
- Payment Processing: Receive cash, check, or credit card payments, make exact change, and issue receipts.
- Cash Drawer Management: Count funds at the beginning and end of shifts to balance the register.
- Store Upkeep: Keep the checkout area clean, set up displays, and occasionally restock shelves or return items to their proper locations.
- Stand for extended periods (approximately 55% of the shift) and walk the rest.
- Safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Tally, move, and bag goods repetitively.
- Basic math skills and the ability to operate or quickly learn a Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
- Strong verbal communication and a friendly, helpful demeanor.
- High attention to detail for handling money and maintaining regular, reliable attendance.
