About this role
Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine, in a patient-focused and engaging role as a Registry Radiation Therapist with our Hyde Park Radiation Oncology clinic.
In this role, under the general supervision of the Radiation Oncologist, the Radiation Therapist administers ionizing radiation and participates in the planning of patients receiving radiation therapy.
Essential Job Functions
- Support medical center and department policies
- Perform initial set-up checks, chart QA for new set-ups, & maintain consistency in daily setups
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Perform simulation and treatment procedures
- Assist with training and evaluation of radiation therapy students
- Ensure adherence to patient safety standards
- Participate in the evaluation of treatment devices
- Participate and support department QA and QI initiatives
- Adhere to Radiation Protection guidelines at all times
- Attend staff meetings and department in-services
- Maintain compliance with medical center and regulatory agency standards in regard to annual training, infection control, and credentialing requirements
- Support the team concept and departmental goals
- Performs other duties as requested by senior management
Required Qualifications
- A completed high school diploma or GED from an accredited educational body
- The satisfactory completion of a formal radiation therapy program from an AMA approved educational body
- Certification from the American Registry for Radiology Technologists (ARRT) or be eligible to sit for the board exam
- License with the Illinois Emergency Medical Agency (IEMA)

Compensation & Benefits Overview
UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.
The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
