Cape Fox Concentric Methods is accepting resumes for a Radiographic Technologist (Computed Tomography) position provides a full range of computed tomography and radiographic imaging services in support of the Defense Health Agency Medical Q-Coded Support and Services, Next Generation task order at the Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center located at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. The RT/CT will perform CT examinations, assist with fluoroscopy and special radiographic procedures, support contrast media administration, conduct patient screening, ensure proper patient positioning, and maintain quality and safety standards within the Radiology Department.
The total hourly pay for this non-exempt position is $52.78. This is comprised of a base hourly rate of $47.69 plus $5.09 per hour Health & Welfare (H&W) for up to 40 hours per week as required by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCLS) regulations. The above rate represents the company’s good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. The RT/CT shall perform services in accordance with applicable contract requirements, Military Treatment Facility policies, radiology department standards, clinical competency requirements, and professional standards of practice. The position requires completion of an accredited radiologic technologist course, at least two years of experience independently operating Computed Tomography equipment and assisting with fluoroscopy and special radiographic procedures, Basic Life Support certification, and current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography and Computed Tomography, RT(R)(CT).
Responsibilities
- Operate CT scanner, auto injector, and related CT imaging equipment in accordance with radiology department standards and applicable clinical protocols.
- Perform venipuncture for contrast media administration in accordance with applicable requirements and approved procedures.
- Receive, screen, and prepare patients for CT examinations, including screening for contrast media contraindications.
- Determine whether special patient preparation, laboratory testing, or additional clinical information is required before performing the examination.
- Explain CT procedures to patients, provide appropriate care, and communicate effectively to alleviate patient fear or anxiety regarding the examination.
- Receive and interpret requests or instructions for CT scans and ensure the appropriate examination is performed.
- Correctly position patients and make necessary adjustments required for the examination.
- Select imaging protocols and operate accessory equipment as directed.
- Perform daily warm-up and assigned quality control checks of the CT scanner.
- Perform a full range of CT examinations, including contrast and non-contrast examinations, angiography, and 2D/3D reconstruction of the head, neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, and extremities.
- Perform complex CT examinations on neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Assist radiologists and other physicians in performing invasive diagnostic techniques, including biopsies, aspirations, radiation therapy, and interventional procedures.
- Notify the radiologist or ordering physician of scans requiring immediate attention.
- Maintain and clean CT equipment on a regular basis in accordance with Radiology Department standards.
- Assist with fluoroscopy and special radiographic procedures as required.
- Support radiation safety, radiation protection, infection control, aseptic technique, sterile technique, patient monitoring, and contrast reaction response procedures.
- Review images and related information to ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain accurate documentation, imaging records, order status information, and related entries in radiology information systems and electronic health systems.
- Perform quality control duties, including arriving, departing, and transcribing orders as required.
- Operate image viewing systems and manipulate imaging studies as required.
- Maintain professional communication with patients, family members, radiologists, physicians, Government personnel, clinical staff, and company representatives.
- Maintain required licensure, registration, certification, competency documentation, training, credentialing, and facility access requirements throughout employment.
- Comply with applicable Military Treatment Facility policies, Radiology Department standards, DHA requirements, HIPAA requirements, local procedures, safety requirements, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Notify the appropriate Government supervisor and company leadership of any inability to perform scheduled duties as required.
Work Schedule: The RT/CT shall perform services in accordance with the schedule established by the Government supervisor and applicable contract requirements. The work schedule may include 8-hour, 10-hour, or 12-hour shifts based on mission needs, patient care requirements, and Radiology Department operations. Scheduled work shall not exceed 40 scheduled hours per week unless otherwise authorized in accordance with contract requirements. On-call, overage, weekend, holiday, or alternate shift requirements may apply if directed and authorized under the contract and local Radiology Department requirements.
- Must have completed an accredited radiologic technologist course.
- Must have completed high school or general education development equivalency
- Minimum of two years of experience independently operating Computed Tomography equipment and assisting with fluoroscopy and special radiographic procedures.
- Must have experience operating Computed Tomography equipment and assisting with fluoroscopy and special radiographic procedures.
- Basic Life Support certification is required.
- No equivalency determination may be requested as a substitute for the education requirements for this labor category.
- Must possess and maintain current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography and Computed Tomography, RT(R)(CT).
- Must maintain current ARRT registration throughout the duration of employment.
- Must maintain all required clinical competency documentation, registration, certification, training, credentialing, and facility access requirements throughout employment.
- Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
