Position Overview
The Rail Unloading Lead is responsible for rail loading and unloading, plant maintenance, and loading and ticketing of customer sales. The Rail Unloading Lead reports to the Stone Depot and Equipment Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for own personal safety at all times as well as maintaining the highest standard of safety and quality in all aspects of the job.
- Properly follow all company policies and procedures for a safe working environment.
- Conduct daily safety meetings.
- Assist in unloading of aggregate trains at Delmar, Felton and Indian River depots.
- Assist in loading of sand trains at Felton depot.
- Assist and plan preventative and regular maintenance of rail unloading equipment at all rail depots.
- Communicate with local rail company for train unloading scheduling.
- Complete risk assessments, pre-trips, workplace inspections, daily sales reports, and any other reports as necessary.
- Train rail unloading laborers as need for development.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must submit to a drug screen and criminal background check.
- Able to work at various times during the day, night or weekend hours, at various locations.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
- Detail oriented and thorough in all job responsibilities.
- Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times.
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 1-2 years' operating heavy equipment or related experience.
- Experience in a leadership position preferred.
