Project Overview:
The rapid growth of AI and digitalization is fueling unprecedented demand for data centers that require large, reliable sources of energy. In response to this market trend, the Renewables & Clean Power (R&CP) team have signed an early works contract to build one of the largest gas fired power generation facilities in the U.S.
This project is of significant scale and complexity, and our team is helping the customer progress early-stage development, that would lead to the start of full EPC delivery this year.
This position is located in Houston, Texas and is contingent upon project award.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will coordinate the recruiting, screening, and processing activities for craft employee positions including journeymen, mechanics, and foremen. You will publish recruitment advertisements, network with employment organizations, create wage bulletins and coordinate accreditation efforts. Your efforts will contribute to meeting team recruiting goals and successful project staffing.
This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership. #LI-SM2
Major Responsibilities:
- Supervises the recruiting, screening, selection, and in-processing of craft professionals for assigned project craft positions.
- Partners with project leadership, Construction, Workforce Services, Talent Acquisition, and Industrial Relations to forecast craft staffing requirements and support timely mobilization.
- Coordinates requisition planning, candidate review, interview coordination, selection, offer activity, and pre-employment processing with hiring teams.
- Identifies recruitment risks, candidate pipeline gaps, staffing shortfalls, and process improvement opportunities, recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Collects and analyzes labor market information to assess craft availability, skill levels, workforce trends, and market conditions.
- Maintains accurate recruitment, candidate, and craft employee data and supports reporting on staffing progress, candidate flow, and workforce metrics.
- Ensures recruitment and selection activities are fair, consistent, transparent, and compliant with applicable Bechtel policies and project requirements.
- Specifies data to be captured in WFS Personnel/HRIS systems, works with Timekeeping/Payroll/Systems teams to homogenize craft data for the project
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong understanding of craft recruitment, team supervision and knowledge of recruitment systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple requisitions, priorities, and stakeholders in a fast-moving project environment.
- Sound judgment and the ability to handle confidential candidate and employee information appropriately.
- Commitment to fair, consistent, transparent, and compliant recruitment practices.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
