Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range. Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP’s annual incentive plan.

Physical Location:
This role will support multiple facilities (600+ employees) across the U.S. The specific facilities assigned will be determined based on the candidate’s home location among other business considerations.
To be considered, the candidate must live within reasonable driving distance of an approved home plant and be able to commute to that site regularly.

Bogalusa, LA
Butler, IN
Des Plaines, IL
Lafayette, LA
Morristown, TN
Richmond, VA
West Monroe, LA
Additional facilities such as Indianapolis, IN; Munster, IN; Kennesaw, GA; Lancaster, PA and Salem, OR may fall within this role’s broader support scope; however, Munster, Kennesaw, Lancaster and Salem are not eligible to be selected as a home plant for this position.
Candidates must be able to reliably commute to one of the approved home plant locations.
This position requires significant travel to assigned facilities. Candidates should expect 50%–65% travel, with actual travel varying based on business needs and the number of facilities supported.
The Job You Will Perform:
Provide HR support to multiple corrugated manufacturing plants and/or warehouse facilities; regular travel to all assigned locations is required.
Work collaboratively with local HR and facility leadership to deliver high‑quality HR support and ensure consistent employee experience across sites.
Support a broad range of human resources functions including employee engagement, performance management, recruitment and selection, equal employment, employee relations, benefits, compliance training, and leadership development.
Participate in local contract negotiations, including preparation, strategy development, and post‑negotiation follow‑up.
Represent the company in 4th step grievance meetings and other escalated labor‑management discussions.
Partner with site leadership on labor‑management matters, including contract interpretation, issue resolution, and relationship building.
Ensure consistent application of company policies, collective bargaining agreements, and workplace expectations across all assigned facilities.
Serve in a hands‑on, highly visible role requiring regular interaction with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization.
The Skills You Will Bring:
Highly motivated, engaged, committed individual that has an interest and background in Human Resources in a manufacturing environment.
Bachelor of Science degree in business, human resources or a related field is required.
Minimum 4-6 years multi-faceted Human Resource Generalist experience within a manufacturing environment.
Union/labor relations experience is a must. This role requires prior experience working in union environments, including grievance handling and labor‑management interactions.
Experience with union-free locations is a plus
