The Regional Recruitment Manager serves within the Office of Admissions as an official representative of Towson University to prospective undergraduate students and families, recruiting students within an assigned territory at college fairs, high school and college visits, and other recruitment events. 

 

This position is expected to meet key metrics pertaining to recruitment, application evaluation, student & community engagement, and customer service for their territory. The Regional Recruitment Manager will conduct recruitment visits and fairs, meet with students and families both virtually and in-person, plan and execute local and regional recruitment and yield events, implement school counselor and community-based organization initiatives, review undergraduate applications, and provide high-level customer service.

 

As part of the team within the office that focuses on the recruitment and yield of out-of-state students, the regional recruiter will assist with strategy and operations pertaining to these efforts. These may include but are not limited to scholarship and financial aid initiatives, outreach and communication campaigns, specialized information sessions and various marketing activities, and relationship-building with school counselors, community-based organizations, TU campus partners and faculty, local TU alumni, and other external constituents. This position will assist with office-wide projects, attend on-campus events, and perform other duties as assigned to meet TU’s enrollment goals.

 

This position is based in New York and works remotely to optimize efficiency and effectiveness as a Regional Recruiter. The majority of recruitment efforts will take place in the New York City metropolitan area, including NYC boroughs, Long Island, and Downstate counties.

The funding for this position begins on July 1, 2026, and concludes on June 30, 2029.

 The work schedule for this position will include evenings and weekends as needed. Travel is required.


Territory Management & Application Evaluation

  • Conduct high school and college visits, college fairs, and other events related to undergraduate student recruitment and enrollment.

  • Develop relationships with school counselors, community college staff, local alumni, community-based organizations, and other constituents to enhance the network and brand of TU.

  • Plan and execute yield events for prospective and admitted students, as well as for school counselors and other partners. Present information sessions both virtually and in-person. 

  • Evaluate undergraduate student applications for admission and scholarship awards to Towson University through a holistic review process.

  • Participate in reviews for special population cohorts, decision and scholarship appeals, and other evaluation processes. Ensure review timelines and goals are met.

 

Customer Service & Office Participation

  • Counsel prospective, admitted, and enrolled undergraduate students on admission to TU and provide excellent customer service to students and families via phone, email, chat and text messages. Conduct regularly scheduled in-person and virtual meetings with students, families, and constituents.

  • Conduct personalized outreach and marketing campaigns to engage students from the territory.

  • Understand admissions policies and requirements and serve as a resource to ensure success within the Admissions Recruitment Team.

  • Conduct campus visits at least two times a year for large campus events (Fall and Spring), as well as for team and all-staff retreats as appropriate.

     

Data Analysis & Trends

  • Utilize data and enrollment trends to develop a recruitment and outreach strategy for the territory; Complete a territory report and analysis identify areas of strengths and weaknesses to assist with recruitment and outreach efforts and increase yield.

  • Oversee creation of point-in-time dashboards that track application, admit, deposit, and enrollment numbers.

  • Benchmark TU’s performance against peer institutions using national and state datasets (e.g., IPEDS, NSC).

  • Utilize Slate CRM to build queries, dashboards, emails, and reports to be an effective Regional Director.

Alumni & Advancement Engagement

  • Support regional alumni and advancement engagement efforts by fostering relationships with prospective students, families, alumni, community partners, and donors to strengthen institutional visibility, recruitment pipelines, and long-term university connections.

     

Other Duties as Assigned:

  • Complete general admissions duties including but not limited to: customer service, applicant processing, holistic review, on-campus events, special projects, campus committees, and any other duties as assigned to meet the enrollment goals of the university.

      Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.

     

  • Three years of experience in college admissions, advising, orientation or related student affairs enrollment management areas.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license, consistent access to a dependable vehicle and successfully pass the TU driver clearance process.

  • Familiarity and use of technology are critical to the success of this position and the overall operation of the Office of University Admissions.

  • Effective communication skills, (oral, written, and interpersonal), as well as the ability to present to diverse audiences in various types of venues.

  • Demonstrated experience as a team player with a strong work ethic.

  • Supported interest in and attentive to cross-cultural communication, and actively contribute to office welfare in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently, especially as a remote regional staff member.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a regional admissions counselor

  • Familiarity with student information or client relationship management systems is desired specifically in Slate and PeopleSoft systems.
