Position Details

Employment Type:

• PRN (Supplemental)

• Non-benefited

Compensation:

• $55.00/hour

• Additional $7.00/hour night shift differential for night shifts worked while floating to Deaconess Crossroads Hospital, Deaconess Illinois Medical Center, and Deaconess Union County Hospital.

What You'll Do

As a Float Pool RN, you'll provide direct patient care in a variety of clinical settings throughout the health system. You'll use evidence-based nursing practice to deliver safe, compassionate care while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to achieve the best possible patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide direct, patient-centered nursing care for patients across assigned units.

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and identify actual or potential health concerns.

• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.

• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.

• Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.

• Administer medications safely following established nursing standards and the six rights of medication administration.

• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in the electronic medical record.

• Delegate care appropriately while supervising support personnel.

• Promote a culture of safety by following infection prevention, quality, and regulatory standards.

• Respond effectively to changes in patient condition using sound clinical judgment and critical thinking.

• Maintain required competencies and participate in ongoing education and professional development.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.

• Minimum of one (1) year of professional nursing experience.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

• Acute care nursing experience.
