Registered Nurse - Lead Preceptor

• Location: Forsyth Medical Center
• Unit: Adult Psych Unit
• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00a - 4:30p, flexibility required

As the RN Lead Preceptor for the Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit at Forsyth Medical Center, you'll have the opportunity to make a lasting impact by developing and supporting the next generation of behavioral health nurses while helping shape a culture of compassionate, patient-centered care.

In this role, you will:

• Lead the orientation and ongoing development of nursing staff in a supportive, collaborative environment.
• Work Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with flexibility based on unit and training needs
• No 12-hour shifts and no direct patient assignment.
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor, partnering with leadership to promote evidence-based practice, professional growth, and high-quality patient care.
• Contribute to a unit that cares for adult patients 18+ with primary psychiatric diagnoses, including voluntary and involuntary commitments, while supporting staff in de-escalation techniques and therapeutic interventions.
• Be part of a team committed to reducing the stigma surrounding mental health by promoting the same compassionate, respectful approach to behavioral health patients as all medical patients.
• Collaborate with an experienced interdisciplinary team that values education, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

• Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
• Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
