About this role
Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.
Responsibilities
Responsible for maintaining the knowledge and abilities essential to the performance of stated behaviors. Carries out legal responsibilities within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act. Accountable to the NURSE SVC SUPV 2 for overall work performance.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Two years recent full-time clinical RN labor and delivery experience in an inpatient setting, including high-risk antepartum, labor and delivery, operating room, postpartum, and well baby
- Active licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California
- Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
- Active American Heart Association ACLS Certification
- Active NRP Certification
- Ability to carry out established nursing procedures and perform nursing care for patients with complex needs
- The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of recent nursing experience, including high-risk antepartum, labor and delivery, operating room, postpartum, and well baby
- Prior MedSurg, TCU, ICU, step-down experience
- BSN
- AWHONN Intermediate FHR completion certificate
License/Certifications:
- Active licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California
- Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
- Active American Heart Association ACLS Certification
- Active NRP Certification
