Overview

Shift: Full-Time; 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Join our RN team as a Wound Clinic Nurse! You'll play a key role in coordinating patient care within our Wound Care Center while providing compassionate, high-quality care. Using your clinical expertise, you'll assess, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment plans, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, and help patients achieve the best possible healing outcomes. Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage wound care for a designated patient population, including assessments, treatments, education, and ongoing care planning.
  • Prepare patients and assist providers with examinations, wound treatments, and minor procedures.
  • Perform comprehensive wound assessments, obtain medical histories, administer treatments, and collect specimens as needed.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on wound care, medications, and treatment plans while serving as a patient advocate.
  • Coordinate patient care by scheduling tests, managing follow-up, and responding to patient inquiries.
  • Collaborate with physicians, the Wound Care Center team, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality, coordinated care.
  • Maintain compliance with nursing standards, regulatory requirements, and UnityPoint Health policies while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Diploma from an RN program.

License(s)/Certification(s):

  • Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in primary state.
    • Must apply within 90 days for licensure in secondary state.
  • Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
