About the team:

Compute division focuses on building large-scale and highly available cloud infrastructure, which supports both public cloud products (like VolcEngine ECS service) and the internal products. The Compute-US team focuses on the development and research of the compute infrastructure platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Explore and develop key technologies for our AI Infra stack, including AI training and inference platforms, AI Agent infrastructure, etc.
  • Build prototypes to verify the functionality and performance of key components or innovations.
  • Showcase our research findings and products through academic publications.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a PhD in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Familiar with Go and Python development in Linux environments.
  • Experience in at least one of the following areas: LLM training, LLM inference and AI Agent.
  • Ability to work independently and complete projects from beginning to end and in a timely manner.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills to clearly communicate technical concepts with other teammates.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Code contributions to open source communities like Pytorch, vLLM or SGlang.
  • Publications in relevant computer science conferences such as OSDI or MLSYS.

Compensation & Benefits:

The hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is $57- $57. Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Interns have day one access to health insurance, life insurance, wellbeing benefits and more. Interns also receive 10 paid holidays per year and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in first half of year, 40 if hired in second half of year). Interns who are not working 100% remote may also be eligible for housing allowance.
