About this role
NSF is offering a rotational internship within our Audit Delivery division. For nearly 80 years, NSF has been at the forefront of food safety. Our extensive network of professional food safety auditors conducts over 40,000 audits annually on a global scale, encompassing various types of food businesses - from manufacturers to hotels and restaurants. During this internship you will receive on-the-job training as a Retail Food Safety Auditor and as an Audit Coordinator.
Our Retail Food Safety Auditor performs 2nd Party audits for Food Retail Clients and our Coordinators oversee the scheduling and planning functions for the Audit Delivery division. As an intern, you will learn what it takes to become an auditor as well as the processes behind the scenes.
Responsibilities
- Learn 2nd party Audit process
- Learn and prepare schedules/work plans within a determined timeframe
- Review and write summary audit findings
- Practice effective communication with team members, management, and clients
Demonstrate quality and integrity in daily responsibilities

Qualifications
- Must be a high school graduate and actively pursuing a higher level of education
- Dedicated university student enrolled in a Food science or similar program
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent multi-tasking abilities and strong organizational skills
- Ability to function as an individual contributor and/or member of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a restaurant kitchen
- Knowledge of quality management system and food safety standards
