The Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority is seeking a Retail Trades Technician. The Retail Trades Technician will enhance the convenience and appearance of retail outlets throughout the state and ensure the safe condition of retail stores, regional offices, and warehouses through regular maintenance, safety inspections, and maintenance repairs on an as needed basis.

This is a temporary position that will help with trades technician needs for our Flagship Store in Virginia Beach.

Areas of Responsibility

Assists in the installation and removal of trade fixtures and sales counters, and all other related equipment, in all retail stores statewide, includes new store openings, store relocations, modernizations, and store closings.

Assists in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC and mechanical systems and boiler systems in retail stores and regional offices throughout the state, which are not the Lessor's responsibility.

Assists in the performance of preventative maintenance and equipment inspections.

Assists in troubleshooting, repairing, replacing and installing new electrical wiring and equipment/devices in retail stores and regional offices statewide;

Troubleshooting, repairing, replacing and installing new plumbing systems, network cabling and equipment,

POS wiring and equipment in retail stores and regional offices statewide.

Assists in performing routine miscellaneous maintenance functions, i.e. safety inspections, minor floor repairs, telephone wiring and repairs, repairs to trade fixtures and counters, and office furniture (desks, file cabinets, etc.).

Maintenance of locks and doors, i.e. install repair closers and locks, re-key locks.

Assists in performing semi-annual roof inspections on ABC owned facilities.

Ensures "Wood Truck" vehicle is properly stocked with needed equipment and supplies.

Schedules "Wood Truck" vehicle maintenance and repairs, as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

Virginia Driver's License required.

Some plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and/or HVAC experience required.

Use of HVAC diagnostic equipment; use of all hand and power tools.

Preferred Qualifications

CFC Certification desired;

HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and trade fixture training preferred.
