About this role
About the Department
This position is responsible for the training of staff from various departments and locations on policy and procedures of the Revenue Processing Center (RPC) functions and RTL software. Assists users with complicated scanning, verification, and balancing issues. Assists in balancing and sending to the bank all checks received through the Tax Office that are scanned into the RTL payment processing system for imaging and electronic payment transfer.

Position Duties
- Trains new staff on the processes and procedures of the RPC.
- Maintains and updates training instructions.
- Assumes the responsibilities of Supervisor in his/her absence.
- Starts up and shuts down all processors on the server.
- Troubleshoots and fixes software errors that do not require IT assistance.
- Assists multiple tax office locations with balancing, scanning, and computer issues.
- Deletes items from batches, deletes batches, and corrects verification errors for all locations.
- Deletes backup files in RTL to maintain software functionality and space on a deferred schedule.
- Maintains accurate records of all changes and corrections to batches.
- Compiles and prepares reports for bank files and daily reporting for accounting and management.
- Sends all electronic check files to the bank for deposit and verifies correctness of confirmations for multiple tax office locations.
- Verifies the accuracy of payments applied to tax accounts, balances daily all tax batches posted by the RPS Processor and verifies bank deposit balances to all tax batches daily.
- Checks accounting documents for completeness and accuracy for multiple locations.
- Resolves complicated balancing issues.
- Downloads ACH return checks from bank, processes return files and reports return items to accounting.
- Communicates and maintains strong working relationships with software and equipment vendors, Tax Office staff, depository bank, and Tarrant County IT.
- Performs all other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Four (4) years of experience in a high-dollar volume transaction environment. Intermediate accounting and banking experience are essential.
- 10-key by touch experience required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office products including spreadsheet and word processing required. Valid drivers license required.
- Must have strong time management and problem-solving skills and exhibit professional demeanor.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with team members, technical, and non-technical support personnel and business staff.
- Must be detail oriented.
Other Qualifications
While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, walk, climb, stoop, lift, push and pull.
