We’re looking for a Revenue Tax Analyst to join our Debt Recovery Division! 

An ideal candidate should possess the following competencies:

Position Duties

One year of experience in administrative services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for six months of the required experience.

Job Duties: 

In this role, you will:

  • Analyze account history, balances, documentation, and system activity to determine appropriate account status and resolution actions in accordance with statutes and ODR policy.

  • Respond to telephone and in-person inquiries regarding accounts placed with ODR, providing accurate and policy-based  information.

  • Interpret and explain applicable statutes, policies, and account actions to customers and stakeholders.

  • Conduct skip tracing using approved research tools, including TLO, LOR Tax System, Louisiana Workforce Commission employment database, and other authorized resources.

  • Evaluate account eligibility for payment arrangements and other disposition actions in accordance with ODR policies and statutory limitations.

Appointment Type:   Probational, Promotional, Job Appointment, Detail to Special Duty or WAE

Career Progression:  This position may be filled as a Revenue Tax Analyst 1 or 2.

Compensation:  The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.   


This posting may be used to fill vacancies in other divisions available within the Louisiana Department of Revenue within 90 days of the closing date.


A Tax and Natural Disaster Clearance will be conducted on all selected applicants to validate the timely submission of tax returns and payments. It is a requirement that all Revenue employees must adhere to all tax laws of the State of Louisiana.  


LA R.S.15:587.5, 587.6 and the IRS require the Louisiana Department of Revenue to conduct a criminal history records check of a prospective employee who will access federal tax information to perform job duties. Any applicant who receives and accepts a conditional offer of employment will require a completed criminal history records check prior to his or her first day of work.

R.S.15:587.5, 587.6 and the IRS require the Louisiana Department of Revenue ("LDR") to conduct a criminal history records check of a prospective employee who will access federal tax information to perform his job duties.
