Centrally located within the heart of California, Adventist Health Tulare has been serving the Central Valley since 2018. We are comprised of a 108-bed acute care hospital, emergency department and provide primary and specialty care services to best serve our community. Tulare is situated in a delightful and geographically diverse region. Job Summary:

Assists with the planning, developing, implementing and evaluating of education programs to ensure compliance with established goals and the realization of quality, economical health care service. Demonstrates the ability to meet the educational needs of the hospital. Creates and conducts in-house educational programs.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (some certifications will require Bachelor’s): Preferred
  • Master's Degree: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Preferred
  • Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE): Preferred

Essential Functions:

  • Conducts assessments of learning needs using a variety of strategic tools and incorporates principles of adult learning in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of education programs. Supports the development of the healthcare team and fosters empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence through the delivery of evidenced based practice.
  • Creates and conducts in-house educational programs as need identified. Conducts and delivers In-Service training in various clinical areas. Completes all documentation required to validate class completion. Supports clinical staff in the advancement of clinical practice and professional development. Collaborates with administrative disciplines.
  • Ensures the department is compliant with current hospital regulations. Coordinates education and training as needed with ability to provide feedback for coaching if needed. Manages staff competencies and orientation to specific department functions. Promotes and assists the implementation of new initiatives and technology.
  • Collaborates in implementation of new hospital and department policies, new techniques and new instrumentation as well as reviewing and updating policies and procedures manuals for the department on an ongoing basis. Develops teaching materials and educational classes for other departments as necessary.
  • Participates in educational training to develop awareness of new techniques, procedures and instruments by participating in continuing education to comply with federal and state laws and to enhance professional growth.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
