Position Duties
Three years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A bachelor's degree in nursing plus two years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A master's degree in nursing or public health plus two years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A doctorate in nursing or public health plus one year of experience as a licensed registered nurse.

Job Duties:
In this role, you will:
- Plan, manage, and direct total nursing service of a multi-service patient area on a 12-hour basis and coordinate patient and nursing activities with other departments and disciplines.
- Perform all the duties required of a professional nurse and serve as a role model for all levels of professional nurses and paraprofessional staff.
- Make nursing/supervisory rounds and monitor treatment performance/patient care and record documentation to assure compliance with defined standards.
- Orient new personnel to the unit.
- Provide direct administrative supervision, support, and consultation to nursing staff on assigned unit.
- Develop performance plan with subordinates, monitor work, provide coaching and training as needed, and objectively evaluate performance of subordinates.
- Assist employees in identifying educational needs and assure staff development participation for self and subordinates.
- Initiate and respond to various codes and supervise staff to assure procedure is done correctly.
- Interpret standards of care and policies/procedures defined by nursing, E.L.M.H.S., LDH, OBH, and Civil Service and assure adherence to same.
- Work with RN Supervisor B in identifying, analyzing, and resolving unit problems.

Compensation:
- This position has a SER of $39.12 an hour or $3129.60 bi-weekly
- This position is eligible for the following premium pays (Per Hour Physically Worked):
- Facility Longevity – Starting at $2.00
- Recruitment/Retention - $10.00
- Recruitment/Retention – 2.00$
- This position qualifies for shift differentials, with rates varying based on shift time, day of the week, and holidays.
