DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position assists with project planning, data review, inventory work, and budgeting tasks that support roadway maintenance and county programs.  As a Roadway Programs Technician 2, you will perform the following duties:


  • Data Evaluation: Gather and review maintenance information to support work standards and county performance measurements
  • Program Support: Assist in developing and managing yearly plans, salt management activities, snow plans, and maintenance meeting schedules
  • Inventory Tracking: Monitor stockpile materials, update databases, and manage winter service inventories
  • Material Processing: Input information, requisition materials, coordinate deliveries, and process invoices using department systems
  • Accident Coordination: Collect accident information, complete field reviews, compile reports, and work with police and district staff
  • Contract and Purchasing: Prepare bids, manage vendor lists, issue requests for quotes, reconcile purchases, and ensure proper contract documentation

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Roadway Programs Technician 1; or
  • One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment, and an Associate's Degree in the field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or closely related program; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
