The Rentals Sales Team provides outstanding advertising solutions and business consultation for Single Family partners. Specifically, the Single Family Rentals team works with owners and operators of rental properties throughout the U.S., helping connect rental shoppers with the property they will next call home. We provide creative technological solutions, strategic data, and strong training and development to help our partners grow.About the role
The Sales Development Representative plays a key role in driving acquisition within Zillow Rentals’ Single Family business by creating qualified sales conversations for Account Executives through outbound prospecting and meeting generation. This is a high-activity, inside sales role for someone with a strong work ethic, a hunter mentality, and the ability to create opportunities through thoughtful outreach and persistence.
This role supports multiple AE pods across the Single Family sales team and is focused primarily on proactive outbound prospecting. You will partner closely with Account Executives to identify target accounts, generate pipeline, and set high-quality appointments that help drive revenue growth.
Success in this role requires strong communication skills, disciplined activity management, and the ability to quickly build credibility with prospective partners from first contact through handoff. Responsibilities
Generate qualified acquisition meetings for Account Executives by prospecting into priority Single Family Rental accounts and building top-of-funnel pipeline.
Partner closely with multiple AE pods to align on target accounts, outreach strategy, meeting quality, and conversion goals.
Execute high-volume outbound outreach through cold calls, email, and other prospecting channels to engage potential partners and create new sales opportunities.
Research accounts, market conditions, and industry trends to improve outreach quality and identify opportunities within assigned territories.
Qualify prospects for fit and readiness, then ensure a smooth handoff to the appropriate Account Executive for the next step in the sales process.
Maintain accurate activity records in Salesforce and related tools to support visibility, follow-up, and pipeline discipline.
Collaborate with Account Executives on messaging, feedback loops, and prospecting strategy to improve conversion and appointment outcomes.
Stay current on Zillow Rentals solutions, competitive dynamics, and partner pain points to strengthen outreach and conversation quality.
Meet and exceed activity-based KPIs and appointment-setting goals tied to pipeline creation and revenue generation.
Serve as a strong brand ambassador for Zillow Group in every partner interaction.
Who you are
6+ months of appointment setting, outbound prospecting, and/or inside sales experience.
Experience with cold calling, email prospecting, and creating opportunities through proactive outbound outreach.
High energy and a strong desire to achieve top results with a positive, professional, can-do attitude.
Strong work ethic, resilience, and a true hunter mentality.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to quickly build rapport and credibility.
Strong time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to execute consistently in a high-activity environment.
High ethical values, professionalism, and integrity.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment and partnering closely with Account Executives to achieve shared goals.
Highly proficient in Google Workspace tools.
Salesforce.com or other CRM experience preferred.
